Do you ever wonder what the point of everything is?
You work hard, you try to do what you think is right for yourself and those around you, and you do your best to be happy and keep a smile. But at the end of the day you’re left tired, you wonder when things will turn around and everyone will just get along, and you cringe knowing that life is short and mostly difficult. Maybe you even wonder what will happen when this life is over.
The good news is that God has given us the Bible to help us know why life is so challenging, and to help us understand what to expect when it’s ended. The Bible even helps us know what simple thing we can do today to find real and lasting joy that nothing else seems able to provide.
THE BIBLE SAYS
God loves you.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.—John 3:16
Everyone is a sinner.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;—Romans 3:23
Sin has a penalty.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.—Romans 6:23
Jesus paid your penalty.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.—Romans 5:8
Jesus will be your Savior.
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.—Romans 10:9
