3/17/20 WFBA Update, 10:30pm

March 17, 2020 By Shawn Thayer

The Florida Department of Education has directed all public and private K-12 schools to keep campuses closed through April 15, 2020. In adherence with this guidance, West Florida Baptist Academy will not resume on-campus classes before this date.

We will begin implementing distance learning by offering a form of virtual instruction beginning March 30, 2020 for all K-12 students. Details regarding the structure and schedule of classes will be delivered later next week.

Our prekindergarten program (K3-K4) will resume offering on-campus instruction beginning March 30, 2020. Groups will be adjusted to allow no more than 10 individuals in a classroom space at one time, following CDC guidance.

Sports practices and events are cancelled through March 30. A decision regarding sports activities beyond this date has not been made.

Parents are asked to pick up books and classroom supplies for distance learning on March 27. The school will open for pickup from 8am-3pm.

We will continue to monitor local, state, and federal guidance regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and will notify parents as soon as possible of any additional changes.
