ITM Parent Newsletter

SO, YOU’RE THE PARENT OF A TEENAGER, HUH?

Congratulations! You have one of the most important (and sometimes the most difficult) jobs on the planet.

We know your job isn’t always easy, but here’s what we want you to know– we’re here to help in any way that we can. Sure, we’re a “youth” ministry, but teenagers aren’t the only people we care about. We care about you too.

No matter how connected you are with our church, this Parent Newsletter will show you some of the ways that we care for and serve you and your child. Thanks for letting us be another voice in the life of your teenager. Your trust and partnership mean a lot to us.
ITM Parents,

We are well into the chaos of the spring semester—also known as "Survival Mode: Part Two!" The time of year when students suddenly remember they have assignments due, parents become professional chauffeurs, and everyone starts counting down to summer break like it’s the finish line of a marathon they didn’t train for. Buckle up—it’s a wild ride of sports, school events, and last-minute projects, fueled entirely by caffeine, late-night cram sessions, and quick prayers!

We’ve got an incredible lineup of events and opportunities for your teens—and for you! See what’s coming up below!

NEW DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS

Introducing D-Groups: Student-Led Discipleship

We are excited to launch D-Groups - student-led discipleship groups designed to help teens grow in their faith through Bible reading, H.E.A.R. journaling, Scripture memory, accountability, and prayer. These groups are led by students, giving them an opportunity to step up as spiritual leaders among their peers.

Each D-Group consists of 3-5 students and an adult Host, who has completed "Host Training" and provides encouragement and guidance while allowing the student leader to take ownership. The first four weeks will cover foundational lessons on discipleship, sharing testimonies, journaling, and accountability. After that, groups will commit to meeting weekly for the rest of the year to encourage one another in their walk with Christ.

We encourage parents to empower their teens to take the lead by signing up as a D-Group Leader or joining a group with a friend. This is an incredible opportunity for students to grow spiritually, develop leadership skills, and build strong Christ-centered friendships.

To sign up or learn more, check out the event sign up below or contact Pastor Joel. Let’s raise up the next generation of disciple-makers!

Upcoming Sermon Information

In a world full of distractions, it’s easy for teens to forget that the most important relationship they’ll ever have is with God. Our series, “Rhythm: Finding the Rhythm in Life with God,” helps teens move beyond just “doing” Christianity and focus on truly knowing God. Through the book of Ephesians, we'll explore how a real relationship with God shapes everything we do. From grace to spiritual strength, this series will guide your teen in finding the rhythm of life with God and truly knowing Him.

  • Week 1: The Rhythm of Grace Over Works (Ephesians 2:1-10)
    • Big Idea: We are saved by grace, not by works, but we are created for good works.
  • Week 2: The Rhythm of Nearness (Ephesians 2:11-22)
    • Big Idea: In Christ, we have direct access to God and are part of His family.
  • Week 3: The Rhythm of Strength and Surrender (Ephesians 3:14-21)
    • Big Idea: Spiritual strength comes from knowing and experiencing God’s love.
  • Week 4: The Rhythm of Renewal (Ephesians 4:17-32)
    • Big Idea: A relationship with God changes the way we live.
  • Week 5: The Rhythm of Walking in Love and Light (Ephesians 5:1-21)
    • Big Idea: Walking in step with God means walking in love, purity, and wisdom.
  • Week 6: The Rhythm of Strength in Spiritual Battle (Ephesians 6:10-20)
    • Big Idea: Knowing God helps us stand firm in spiritual warfare.

Our prayer is that this series will equip your teens with confidence in their identity in Christ and a deeper understanding of their relationship with Him.
