Day #2 | Behold 2028 Devotional
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” - Acts 4:12
Acts 4:12 gives me hope. Peter lays it out boldly to those who are rejecting Jesus as the Messiah. If one does not put their faith in Jesus, as He is the only way to be granted salvation, then they will not be saved. What is salvation? Salvation is the eternal deliverance from suffering and pain that we experience in our broken and sinful bodies. Salvation is granted to all of those who believe in Jesus as the Son of God who redeemed us on the cross by His sacrifice. He took on our punishment, which is death (Romans 6:23), the opposite of salvation, and defeated it by coming back to life. In order to be saved, you must repent of your sins, and put your faith and trust in Jesus as the atonement for your sins. He is the only one who grants eternal life by His perfect sinless life, and His obedience to the Father to have died in our place. God raised Him from the dead, as God will raise you from the dead. I was once dead in my sin, but God, rich in mercy and perfect in all His ways, opened my eyes to see His glory and understand my true purpose. Our true purpose is to know the Lord our God, love Him, and obey His commands. He has commanded us to go and make Him known to the world. My life is not my own; I must live it in a way that proclaims that salvation can come from no other name than Jesus. Jesus is a gift that one does not deserve and cannot earn. If you have not made the decision to accept Jesus as your savior, I urge you to humbly go before the Lord and ask Him to remove the blindness from your eyes and reveal to you your brokenness and your need to be saved. As Romans 10:13 tells us, all who call upon His name shall be saved. Have you called upon him? Salvation is in no one else, other than the name of Jesus.
