Day #17 | Behold 2028 Devotional

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” - 2 Corinthians 5:17

The moment a person is saved, God performs a miraculous transformation. Salvation is not a mere reformation of character or a decision to turn over a new leaf; it is a complete renewal of the inner man. In Christ, the sinner becomes a “new creature,” fundamentally different from what they were before.

This transformation begins with the passing away of the “old things.” The old nature, dominated by sin and self, is replaced with a new identity in Christ. No longer under the bondage of sin, the believer is freed to live a life that pleases God. While we once lived to gratify the flesh and pursue worldly ambitions, salvation gives us new desires, new priorities, and a new purpose.

The phrase “all things are become new” reflects both an instantaneous and ongoing process. Positionally, the believer is made new at the moment of salvation, justified in God’s sight. Practically, this transformation unfolds throughout the Christian life as the Holy Spirit works within us to sanctify and conform us to the image of Christ.

This truth challenges us to live in light of our new identity. Are we walking in the Spirit, reflecting the character of Christ in our daily lives? Do our actions testify to the reality of the new creation we have become? God’s transformation equips us to leave behind the old life and live with eternal purpose, pointing others to the One who makes all things new.

May we embrace this truth with gratitude, walking in the power of God’s grace, and boldly proclaiming the transforming power of the gospel to those who are still bound by sin.
