Day #12 | Behold 2028 Devotional

Feb 12, 2025

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” - Hebrews 10:24-25

This passage in Hebrews reminds us of the importance of fellowship and unity within the body of Christ. True Christian fellowship is only possible because of Christ's work on the cross and the Hope of salvation. Jesus prays for believers to experience this oneness, just as He is One with the Father: to be made perfect in one, so the world may know Him (John 17:23). The author of Hebrews writes that through fellowship we are able to encourage and support one another. When times of doubt or struggle arise, we hold fast to God's Truth and edify each other. Practical ways of Christian fellowship might include encouragement with kind words, motivating them to step out in obedience, Bible study, connection groups, discipleship groups, and praying for one another. Our own spiritual growth also plays an important role in being able to pour out God's love to others and encourage them in the faith. It’s a daily decision to “put off” our old selves and “put on” the new: the surrendering of our own will to allow the Holy Spirit to transform us into His image (Ephesians 4:22). And how exactly is this accomplished? The method of this transformation is the beholding of Jesus! We need to look to Jesus and Him alone – not looking at our own human limits or ability. As we behold His Glory, we are transformed from one degree of glory to another by His spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18). In turn, God is able to use our own individual spiritual growth and produce the fruit needed to exhort one another. God didn’t create us to do life alone. Let’s remain active and steady in our faith while we motivate those around us to do the same. Choose to be a Barnabas and watch as we see God’s transformation in our lives and the lives of others.
