Day #1 | Behold 2028 Devotional
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation.” - Isaiah 12:2
Isaiah 12:2 conveys a fundamental truth: salvation exclusively comes from God. "God is my salvation" affirms that salvation is not something we can achieve through our own efforts, but it is entirely dependent on God’s will and power. It is not through human striving or merit, but through God’s grace that salvation is granted to sinners. This truth calls us to recognize that the source of our salvation lies not within ourselves, but in Jesus Christ, the only One who saves.
The verse expresses a deep sense of trust and confidence in God's deliverance. “I will trust and not be afraid” reveals the deep sense of security that comes from knowing God as the source of salvation. Salvation creates a relationship with God that removes fear and replaces it with unshakable trust in His faithfulness. This trust is not based on human strength but on the unwavering reliability of God’s character. Psalm 55:22 echoes this idea, encouraging us to cast our burdens on the Lord, who promises to sustain and protect us.
Rejoice! Hallelujah! God is both our strength and defense. “For the Lord, the Lord Himself, is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation.” When we recognize that God is our protector and source of strength, praise flows freely from our hearts. This recognition of God’s power and faithfulness leads us to an attitude of rejoicing and thanksgiving. As seen in Psalm 118:14, “The Lord is my strength and song, and has become my salvation,” the proper response to God's salvation is always one of worship and joy. These verses collectively demonstrate that salvation, as a gift from God, inspires deep trust, security, and an overwhelming sense of joy in the hearts of His people. It is imperative that we do not take this gift for granted.
