Day #28 | Behold 2028 Devotional
“And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” - Mark 4:41
As we step forward in faith in the Behold 2028 Capital Campaign, we are setting out on a journey that will stretch our trust and reliance on God. Just as the disciples in Mark 4 were caught in a terrifying storm, we too can face moments of uncertainty, doubt, and fear as we face this monumental task. But in those moments, we have a powerful reminder of God’s ability to do what only He can do.
In Mark 4, Jesus and His disciples were caught in a storm on the Sea of Galilee. As the storm raged, the disciples feared for their lives and woke Jesus, asking, "Master, carest thou not that we perish?" Jesus, calmly rising, rebuked the wind and the waves, and immediately the storm ceased. The disciples were left in awe, wondering, “What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” In that moment, they witnessed firsthand the power of God to do what seemed impossible.
As we start this capital campaign, we are setting out on a path that requires more than human effort or planning. We are trusting God to show up in ways only He can. The reality is, we cannot accomplish this vision on our own—whether it's raising the necessary funds, overcoming obstacles, or creating a space that will serve the ministry for years to come. We are trusting that God will make a way where there seems to be no way.
But just like the disciples who marveled at Jesus’ authority over the storm, we too will Behold God doing what only He can do—providing what we need, moving hearts to give, and making a way when it seems impossible. We will look back and say, "Only God could have done that."
In this journey, remain in awe of God's power. As we Behold His mighty hand, pray that our faith will be deepened and our trust in Him will be strengthened.
