Day #27 | Behold 2028 Devotional
“Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.” - Genesis 3:21
In Genesis Chapter 3, we see all that God has perfectly created for man, yet man sinned, and destroyed the perfection God planned for him. Adam did all that he knew to do to cover up his situation, but it was not enough. Even in Adam’s sin, God showed his mercy and grace by the shedding of blood to cover Adam’s sin. But our God didn’t stop there! He looked into the future, and made a way for everyone to be forgiven and whole - to cover our sin permanently! God gave us the most precious thing that He has - His own Son!
Man did what he could in his own power, but it would never be enough. God had to step in and do the miraculous - above anything we could have ever dreamed of on our own.
When I look at my life, I see the same powerful hand of God. No one expects to be widowed in their early 50’s. I remember feeling overwhelmed and calling out to God for help. My goal was survival. How will I raise a child, be the sole provider, and take care of everything in life by myself? But God! God answered that prayer beyond anything I could have ever imagined! Not only did He help me raise that daughter, He gave me a home, this church, friends (who are more like family), a ministry, and a purpose!
God is continuing to move in the life of WFBC. He continually sends new families, people are being saved, lives are being changed! When we look at the need for a new auditorium to house all of the people God has brought to our church, it seems overwhelming — beyond what we could ever do. But when I look through the scriptures and see what God did to save us, I have no doubt that we can trust Him with our needs at WFBC. Can we do this on our own? There is literally no way. But God! Now, we do our part, and then look up to watch the hand of God!
